Day Out With Cayden

We love our cousins! Even though they may not love us...yet. Because so far all we are good for is getting them in trouble. They have to share because we're just a baby. They have to let us destroy their towers because "we don't know better" - and nickname us Joeyzilla. And although we are learning to play better, it's still not good rough-and-tumble-big-boy kind of play. But when they moms are around to referee, a good time is had by all!

A Day In The Life...Chalking

I can't resist a good day to get out and draw on the back patio. I also can't resist a good photo-op with those bold beautiful colors. Now mind you, these were from awhile back when it was nicer out...but thought we may need a little reminder of the blue skies and warm afternoons to come!





And we can't forget to take time to smell the flowers! Or pick the weeds or whatever....

In honor of the Austin snow today, I figured it was about time to update the blog! Here are our snow pictures from both Christmas and the February snow. What has the world come to?! Snowy white winters with snowballs and snowmen?! It doesn't get any better than this!





Unfortunately, I am one of "those" people who doesn't like to be cold, wet and messy. Is a good thing I have a fun husband and two year old to tell me to get off my crotchety booty and go play in the snow. Joseph was pretty excited about the snow and made huge circles around the yard and side yard...walking, walking, walking...not stopping to even attempt a snow ball or pause for a photo-op. His pants were wet up to his thighs when we finally took him inside. Our cue was when he kinda started whining, then finally stopped in one spot to cry holding out his frozen hands. Fun in the cold doesn't last forever you know!

8 inches of snow equals bags on Joseph's feet! I wanted him to have a little time in the snow before he got completely soaked!


Josh was dying to make his snowman! He hasn't had snow like this since growing up in Chicago and Iowa. He taught me the ropes for making the perfect snowman.

It was truly a winter wonderland! So pretty!


We had a little trouble making the charcoal stay, but you get the general idea at least.


Now that smile says it all! What a cheesy kiddo! Maybe we'll drive down to Austin today to play in their snow storm too!!
